Information Minister Oppong Nkrumah, [/caption] Government has welcomed the latest report by the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) which predicts a win for the New Patriotic Party in the election 2020. The EIU in its report on May 13, 2019 claimed Ghana has been experiencing among others, strong growth with fairly strong outlook under Nana Akufo-Addo hence it will be difficult for the NDC under former President John Dramani Mahama to win the next elections. Addressing journalists at a news briefing in Accra, Minister for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah reiterated government’s commitment to executing the change agenda, which as assessed by some external organisations, would lead to the re-election of the NPP. “You recall a report was released not long ago by the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana which also presented similar outlook. The Akufo-Addo administration views these reports first as feedback which enables us to evaluate our progress of work in creating prosperity and equal opportunity for all as stated in our 2016 manifesto” he told reporters. Mr. Nkrumah said government was committed to fulfilling its campaign promises notably rebuilding a strong economy, developing and executing strong flagship programs as well as transforming various aspects of our national lives. He also revealed that the Akufo-Addo administration was focussing on maintaining a strong economic foundation and outlook while guarding against the risks highlighted in the EIU report in order not to compromise on its collective progress. The Minister assured that government will continue to study the performance reports with a view to continuing the good work and review policies where necessary. By 3news.com|Ghana
