Over the weekend, the opposition party inaugurated a seven-member committee headed by multiple-time flagbearer Dr Edward Nasigre Mahama to help reckon resources and funds for a congress to be successfully held. “Indeed, the rank and file of the party is solidly behind all the proposed members of the committee,” the statement said, “and we shall give them the necessary support and assistance they may require inter alia.” He encouraged members of the committee to be “diligent” and “cooperative” with one another in the discharge of their duties. The party has given the Finance Committee oversight responsibility over all internal financial activities. This is per Article 58(C) of the party’s constitution. “The Finance Committee shall therefore look forward in expectation for the details of the final report by the congress fundraising committee before its onward submission to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party.” Source: 3news.com|Ghana]]>
