Former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection Nana Oye Bampoe Addo has filed her nomination forms for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries in the Adentan Constituency.

This is the second attempt the former Minister of State is making to lead the NDC in that constituency.

Her first attempt in 2019 saw her losing to Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, who eventually reclaimed the seat for the NDC. He defeated incumbent Yaw Buaben Asamoa in the 2020 elections.

Speaking to the media after filing her nomination on Tuesday, March 21, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo promised youth of the constituency jobs while pledging to bring infrastructural development if voted for, first as Parliamentary Candidate and then as Member of Parliament.

She said as a woman she understands the plight of constituents and she will come to ensure that there’s development in the constituency.

The human rights lawyer said women will be her priority and will institute policies and projects that will help to empower them.

She promised setting up Artisans Special Fund to provide consultancy and funds for the constituents who are mostly artisans.

She also promised the constituency a tertiary hospital and a big market like that in neighbouring constituency Madina.
