The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has called on the government to scale up security and measures to deal with robberies and other crimes in the country.

The party said they want to see more action and less sloganeering in the efforts to fight insecurity.

Government should deploy the Military to augment the efforts of other Security forces in dealing with the current Security situation, a statement they issued said.

“As it is today, we in this country are fighting terrorists and armed robbery attacks with sloganeering of ‘See Something Say Something’?

“The Security of the Ghanaian is at risk, there are unprecedented armed robbery attacks in the Northern Region, killings at Bawku and
other places and there seems to be a lack of interest and strategy on the part of the NPP government under the leadership of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to salvage the issue of Security and also take steps to galvanise all security forces and apparatus to deal with
the situation A CPP government as we have done before would have resourced properly the Police Service with adequate logistical support to deal with the devastating Security Crisis facing the country today.

“The CPP wants to see more action and less sloganeering. Government should deploy the Military to augment the efforts of other Security forces in dealing with the current Security situation.

“As a means to curb the menace of Terrorism and Armed Robbery in the country, the CPP is asking government as a matter of urgency, roll out a workable roadmap with the Ghana Immigration Service to close all unapproved routes which lead into country,” the CPP said in the statement marking its 73rd anniversary on Sunday June 12.
