Private legal practitioner, Mr Abraham Amaliba has said the demand for neutrality allowance by the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) is justified.

He stated that the allowances is an arrangement that exit hence, should be fulfilled.

Speaking on the New Day show on TV3 with Johnnie Hughes on Friday April 22, the Director of Legal Affairs said “CLOGSAG is demanding what is a legitimately due them.

“There is this allowance called neutrality allowance. That allowance is to ensure that local government workers do not engage in partisanship when they are conducting their affairs when they are in their various offices. If we have such allowance and it is due them I think it is not out of place request for it.”

Members of CLOGSAG began an indefinite strike on Thursday, April 21 over this development.

CLOGSAG said it was noted that payment of the Neutrality Allowance they demanded had not been effected as agreed in spite of official reminders and follow ups to the Ministry of Finance.
