The MP for Atiwa East constituency and Deputy Minister for Finance, Abena Osei-Asare, has been elevated to the position of Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.
She was appointed by President Akufo-Addo in the reshuffle that took place on February 14.
The Minister of state position at the Ministry was previously occupied by Mohammed Amin Adam who has been promoted to substantive Finance Minister after Ken Ofori-Atta was offered a new portfolio- Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Envoy for International Finance and Private Sector Investments.
Meanwhile, a parliamentary candidate in the Juaboso Constituency for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 7 election, Dr Alexander Ampaabeng, has been appointed to replace Mrs Osei- Opare as the Deputy Minister for Finance.
