Eleven municipal and district chief executives out of 13 for the newly created districts in the Ashanti region have been sworn into office.
They took the oaths of office, secrecy and allegiance on 5th August 2018, to officially begin work at their respective assemblies.
The ceremony, which took place at the Regional Coordinating Council, was well attended by municipal and district coordinating directors, traditional rulers, executives of the ruling part, Members of Parliament led by the Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah.
The new chief executives are Fred Owusu Obeng, Tafo Municipal; Andrew Adu Boahene, Adansi Asokwa; Akwanuash Gyimah, Asokwa Municipal; Dr John Osei Bobie Boahin, Suame municipal; Maurice Jones Woode, Akrofuom district; Gloria Temmah Gambrah, Oforikrom municipal; and Nii Lartey Ollenu, Amansie west district.
The rest are Rebecca Yeboah, Atwima Nwabiagya North; Faustina Amiassah, Obuasi East District; Kwadwo Ansah-Sem, Juaben Municipal; and Patrick Adusei, Ahafo-Ano South west.
The Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah urged the newly sworn-in district chief executives to develop cordial working relationships with all stakeholders, live modest and humble lifestyle by marking themselves approachable.
He cautioned them to wisely utilize the assemblies’ resources to the benefit of the people they are going to serve.

Mr Simon Osei Mensah said the MMDCEs are the representatives of the president and so their performances would determine whether the NPP government should be maintained in power, and therefore entreated them to put in more efforts to win the heart of the people.
“You are also requested to monitor government flagship programmes such as Free SHS, One District One Factory, Planting for Food and Jobs as well as the infrastructure for Poverty Eradication”, he said.
Kwadaso municipal and Afigya kwabre south were not part of the event because they failed to endorse the president nominees, Richard Agyenim Boateng, Christian Adu-Poku respectively.
