Police mount search for ‘lunatic’ attacker whose hand was chopped off

Police in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis have launched a manhunt for a mentally deranged man whose hand was chopped off from the wrist. He allegedly attempted to slash a man with machete last Saturday at about 4:10pm at Nkroful Junction near Kojokrom in the Western Region. The victim was crossing the road when the lunatic attempted to slash him but managed to overpower the mentally deranged man, seize the machete and chopped his hand. He immediately called Takoradi-based Connect 97.1FM which also reported the matter to the Police. “The Police went there and tried to take him to hospital for medical attention but he became violent, struggled with them and went into the bush. He’s not been seen again,” our correspondent Paa Kwesi Simpson reported Monday. Our correspondent said the Police have mounted a search for the man who residents have accused of terrorising users of the Nkroful Junction.
