Mr. Nyantakyi lost his positions at the GFA, CAF and FIFA following the Number 12 expose which Ahmed played a key role in[/caption] Former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has been interrogated by the agents of the Police Criminal Investigations Department over the assassination of undercover journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale. Ahmed Hussein-Suale who was a key member of Anas’ private investigations team, Tiger Eye PI, was shot dead at Madina last Wednesday night. He was shot three times; twice in the chest and once in the neck.

He was said to have played a key role in the Number 12 investigative documentary by Anas Aremeyaw Anas which exposed deep seated corruption in Ghana’s football leading to the removal of Mr. Nyantakyi. Though the Police CID in its statement issued Monday did not give reasons for interrogating Mr. Nyantakyi, it is believed to be because of the work Ahmed did which caused Mr. Nyantakyi to lose his job at the GFA, CAF and FIFA last year. The Police explained a team of detectives and other experts have taken a statement Mr. Nyantakyi who is being treated as a “person of interest” in the murder case that has received international attention and condemnation. “The CID has and continues to interrogate other persons of interest as well as following up on multiple significant leads,” the statement signed by the Director General of Police Public Affairs ACP David Eklu indicated. Also, the CID said its agents have  interrogated Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Ken Ohene Agyapong in the case, Statement taken from Ken Agyapong The MP in the aftermath of the Number 12 investigative piece which he chastised Anas for, uncovered the identity of Ahmed by showing his photographs on live television, and incited public to beat him for he was ready to reward anyone who did that. Many people, including lawyer for Anas, Kissi Adjabeng, have since the murder incident called on the investigators to invite the MP for questioning for exposing the Ahmed’s picture on national television. “I refuse to even mention his name. I’m saying that he engaged in a reckless conduct by exposing the young man to death by putting his picture on his NET2 TV and inviting the whole world to beat him up,” Adjabeng said in an interview on Joy FM Thursday. Anas  on Thrusday told the BBC that while the conduct of  Ken Agyapong in the said video which has caused people to point fingers at him as a suspect in the murder case was an unfortunate, “it’s early days yet” to draw any conclusions. But the CID believes he is a person of interest in the murder, hence his interrogation. “A team of detectives and other experts have interrogated hon Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central and a statement taken from him,” the Police statement said. Thorough investigation assured Meanwhile the CID said it is committed conducting “a thorough investigations of high integrity in this case in particular and all other unresolved crimes in general” It has consequently urged the public to provide information to help get the perpetrators.
