Police say the man, full name Saddat Mohammed and popularly known as Alhaji, was spotted on Sunday, August 18 with the deceased shortly before he was killed. The Asamponhene was found dead in the back seat of his car at Ebuom on the Ejura-Nkoranza highway. He had been stabbed multiple times.

The police said three persons have so far been arrested as part of investigations. The Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP David Agyemang Adjem, said investigations are far advanced and the Alhaji is the prime suspect. ACP Agyemang Adjem said an arrest warrant has been secured by the police to have the prime suspect for interrogation. “Alhaji is now wanted,” he announced to journalists in at the Ashanti Regional Police Command headquarters. “So, if you know where he is hiding, come out and show us,” he stated in Akan language on Wednesday, August 21. He also stated that whoever harbours a wanted person is in contravention of the law and would be charged accordingly if found. The Deputy Regional Commander, therefore, called on those with information on Saddat Mohammed to volunteer it to the police. Source: 3news.com|Ghana]]>
