Two persons arrested in connection with a disturbance caused by two youth groups in Pankrono and Adabraka in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, October 19 have been remanded in police custody by the Tafo Circuit Court.

They were charged with rioting and unlawful destruction of properties.

They will reappear in court on Wednesday, November 1.

A third suspect has been arrested by the police on Monday, October 23.

The violent clash was sparked by the death of one Owusu Banahene, who was stabbed on Wednesday, October 18 by some youth suspected to have come from Adabraka.

The Pankrono youth launched a reprisal attack on Adabraka the next day and caused destruction of properties.

A team of police personnel has since been deployed to the two communities to avert retaliatory attacks.

The Old Tafo Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) has been meeting with opinion leaders as part of its fact-finding mission and brining a lasting peace in the area.
