The Special Prosecutor has arrested the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah.

Mr. Ofosu Nkansah’s arrest is in relation to his alleged distribution of money to delegates ahead of the parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the NPP Constituency Secretary of Asante Akyem Central, Felix Amakye, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) learnt of the alleged distribution of the money after Mr. Nkansah’s contender for the seat, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi, hinted the office.

Following the report, Mr. Nkansah was taken into custody and subsequently transported to his office in Accra to assist in ongoing investigations.

The NPP is set to conduct the parliamentary primaries for constituencies with sitting MPs on January 27.
