Onua TV/FM hold Women’s Dialogue to commemorate International Women’s Day

Onua TV and FM marked 2024’s International Women’s Day with a dialogue to celebrate the achievement of women in Ghana.

The two-hour event which spanned from 10am – 12noon brought together women from different backgrounds to share their experiences in their chosen fields of vocation.

Delivering a speech on behalf of the Group Chief Executive Officer of Media General, Beatrice Agyemang, Ama Lawson, the Group Human Resource Manager, noted that, the company was ready to offer more opportunities to women to make strides.

Looking at women’s contribution towards the building of the nation so far, she said it was worth it for Media General to leverage its platforms to propagate the message of women empowerment to advocate for better opportunities to do more.

“Today, as we mark International Women’s Day, we stand together to celebrate the accomplishments of women and renew our dedication to overcoming obstacles and achieving even greater success through hard work and determination.

“As a leading media company in Ghana, Media General Limited remains committed to leveraging our platforms to raise awareness about the challenges confronting women and to advocate for better opportunities to enable them to contribute more significantly to our social and economic growth,” she noted.

Five resource personnel from different fields that graced the occasion include Linda Asante Agyei, Vice President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Queenmother of Akyem-Dwenase Abuakwa Traditional Area, Nana Appeaa Sarpomaa Kumankuma and ACFO1 Doris Lamptey, Tema Regional Fire Commander.

The others were Dr. Beatrice Addai Wiafe, Chief Executive Officer of Peace and Love Hospital, Gloria Quansemah Williams, General Manager of Facility Pro, with Nana Yaa Brefo and Abena Nyamesem as moderators.

The women shared the progress they have made in their respective areas of expertise, and the challenges they have had to confront, as well as how they overcame it to inspire the younger generation not to give up on their dreams.
