The program dubbed M’AGYA PA was targeted to offer free health screen to fathers at Abossey Okai because the shop owmers shuttle from home to their work places and had little time to seek medical attemtion to know their medical status.
According to the Head of Onua Fm and Onua TV Nana Apeanti,the managent deem it a corporate social responsibilty to honour fathers’ with health screening to let them know their health status.
The program was successful attracting hundreds of fathers in the catchment areas such as Koforidua in the (Eastern Region) Kasoa(Central Region)Accra Business District , Abossey Okai and its environs among others
Mr. Apeanti opined that fathers go on their daily activities all year round in their quest to feed the family without goimg for medical check ups.
“In most cases our fathers who are the bread winners are striken by various disease that could have been prevented and treated if diagnosed early, “he added.
Onua Fm reporter spoke to the Chief Executive Officer of Odomfo Herbal Hospital,Prophet Frederick Arhin, who said that his company deemed it reasonable to collaborate and sponsor M’agya Pa Free Health Screening For Fathers because when fathers attain age sixty they go through health conditions such as diabetes,high blood pressure and other illnesses which they may not be aware.
“Sometimes these fathers’ do not get proper care from relatives and children who might have grown and gone out from the family “
Mr. Arhin stated that his outfit will not make it a nine day wonder and the company will always support a cause championed by Onua Fm and Onua TV respectively. The CEO also next year the company will share so many goodies on fathers’ day to reward our fathers’
He said so far 100s of fathers has been disease screened with diseases such as diabetes,premature ejaculation,impotence,headaches,blood pressure and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.Those screened were offered half the cost of the drugs administered.
