Youth in Nzema have commended the Member of Parliament for Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, for donating monies towards the renovation of the home of Ghana’s first president Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah in Nkroful.

The youth described the Deputy Minority Leader as “the Nkrumah of our time” for the gesture.

“This step you have taken has brought tears to our eyes as youth from Nzemaland,” a release from the Western Nzema Youth League said.

“We are so much dumbfounded considering the neglect from the Central and District Level of Authority,” its leader, Dr Patrick Ekye Kwesie, signed the release on Wednesday, September 13.

“Misplaced priority is when you neglect your home and beautify your grave yard. That is what is happening when it comes to Osagyefo Dr.Nkrumah and his Maternal home at Nkroful.”

The youth are, however, incensed by the resistance the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker is receiving as a result of his gesture.

But they have vowed they will resist such attempts, urging those behind it to stop.

“The Deputy Minority Leader has proven to us that whenever he is given the opportunity to serve, he’s very good in eschewing partisan politics to address the reality always and we always applaud him for that nationally.

“When you got the nod to take Ellembelle from the darkness, you made a collective promise to the good people of Nzema that Osagyefo brought you to redeem Nzema and Ghana as a whole so you are bent on that dream to make feel we are the chosen one.”
