Nyantakyi back home soon to assist investigations

President of GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi[/caption] Embattled Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi has offered to be back to Ghana soon to assist the Criminal Investigations Directorate of the Ghana Police Service in investigations regarding his usage of the name of the president to broker a deal. In a yet-to-aired exposé by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Mr Nyantakyi is said to have mentioned President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and other state officials in brokering a shady deal. After watching the video, the president is said to have reported Mr Nyantakyi to the CID to have him investigated. A Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor, on Tuesday said President Akufo-Addo is satisfied and convinced that there is enough evidence on the face of the matter to have the GFA boss investigated for defrauding by false pretenses. “We want to assure the Ghanaian people that the president is determined to fight corruption, to fight crime, fight influence peddling, fight bribery and instill discipline, integrity and honesty into our public life,” he said. 3news.com gathers Mr Nyantakyi, who is the First Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (Caf), is in Morocco and will be back home soon. An interaction he had with host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana Paul Adom-Otchere and sighted by 3news.com revealed Mr Nyantakyi’s readiness to assist the police in investigations. The exposé titled Number 12: When Misconduct & Greed Become the Norm is said to implicate several big wigs in Ghana football. Already, there is anxiety among these persons. The documentary is expected to be shown on June 6-7 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
