Two statesmen, Brigadier General Joseph Nunoo Mensah and Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe will be speaking on the topic “The State of Ghana” at an event on Wednesday, October 10.

The event will take place at the Press Center of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Secretariat in Accra at 10:00am.

The discussions will centre around the judiciary, tribalism, corruption and others.

Key stakeholders including politicians, civil society organizations, and students and the media are expected to be in attendance.

In recent times, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has been very critical of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

For instance, while speaking at the 3Business Ghana’s Economic Forum Agenda held on Wednesday, August 9, he said the President has failed to discipline his ministers for various infractions in government.

“We have had a lot of infractions in this government but who has been reshuffled?” He asked.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe further stated that if the money that has been stolen from Ghana and siphoned outside the country is returned, Ghana will be able to restore the economy.

“If the money that has been stolen from this country is brought back we will get somewhere,” he said.

He added “The cause of the problems we have is money being siphoned out by politicians.”

Another stalwart of the NPP, Kwame Pianim who spoke at the same event also indicated that Ghana is in a deep crisis.

“Where we are now is difficult, we have never been there before, we need to sit up now and, we are not on the road yet we haven’t turned the corner,” he said.
