Lawyer for the Party, Godfred Dame, told the Accra High Court Thursday that Mr. Afoko has been moving from one media to the other ‘prosecuting’ the case in which he is challenging his suspension.
He thus prayed the court to issue an order to restrain Mr Afoko from further commentary on the case until its final determination, arguing the action of Mr Afoko could prejudice the case considering the transcripts of the interviews he has granted so far.
But the presiding judge, Anthony Yeboah after hearing the arguments of Mr Dame and the admission by Mr Afoko’s laywer, Sarfo Buabeng, said ‘no comment’ and adjourned the case to April 12 to allow the parties file all the necessary documents.
The adjournment is to allow the NPP more time to respond to the statement of case of Mr Afoko which was filed belatedly.
Mr Afoko wants the court to determine the status of some two members of the NPP, whose petition to the party’s Disciplinary Committee led to his suspension. His lawyers are also challenging the legitimacy of Madam Gifty Kusi and Alhaji Short to be on the Disciplinary Committee.
According to him, the two do not have the right to demand his removal since they are not properly appointed members of the Committee.
