Second deputy speaker of Parliament and MP for Nadowli Kaleo, Alban Bagbin, has asked members of the National Democratic Congress to give their full support to whoever is chosen to lead the party into the 2020 elections. He observed competition strengthens the spirit of democracy, hence should not be seen as war among the candidates. Alban Bagbin made the appeal while addressing party faithfuls at a mini rally at Adukrom in the Asawase constituency of Ashanti region Sunday. “Competition is the spirit of democracy, it is not a time for war and insult,” stated. “Whatever is happening in NDC should not discourage anyone because it is a family contest. Whoever is elected parliamentary candidate and presidential candidate should get our 100% support because our common goal is to win the 2020 election”, Alban Bagbin appealed. Mr. Bagbin who is an aspiring presidential candidate of the NDC indicated the problems confronting Ghana and the NDC are not for the faint hearted and that “we need bold and courageous leaders to deal with it”. He called on all party members to show love and loyalty to the party, stating that “we are not only going to show Nana in 2020 but we are going to win to develop mother Ghana” Mr Bagbin urged the people of Asawase to widen the voting gap between the NDC and NPP from 4,000 to over 8,000. He appealed to all politicians to be truthful in serving their people. Scores of party members and sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress thronged the Adukrom school park to re-strategize on winning back power. The party is poised to regain power in 2020 after losing to the NPP by a wide margin in 2016.
