Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of TV3 Network Limited Ray Nkwe says the evolving media landscape calls for new ideas and new talents as well as enhancement of existing talents.

As a result, he has promised to tilt the balances towards innovation and creativity at TV3.

“We need them to be free and open in working with Adesa [Productions Limited] to provide quality, competitive but compelling local content,” Mr Nkwe said in an exclusive interview on Monday, February 1.

The South African national took over the reins as CEO after Augustus Dickson proceeded on his mandatory retirement.

The new CEO comes on board with 22 years of experience in the media landscape but admitted that his new environment will pose surmountable challenges.

“I am not oblivious to the challenge. I am aware that it takes hardwork to sustain leadership position.

“The media landscape is evolving which calls for new ideas, new talents in some respects and also enhancing existing talents. So what I bring on board is vast experience.”

He did not hide his admiration for the youthfulness around TV3’s workforce, assuring that he would convince management into embracing this young breed of workers.

“My challenge to them is that let’s get creative together and make the brand bigger,” he charged the young workers.

Mr Nkwe is in Ghana with his family “and they are also very happy to be here”.

His appointment takes effect from Monday, February 1.
