NDC behind fake news of arrest of Ghanaian gov’t official in the UK – KON

The government has rejected media reports that authorities in the United Kingdom (UK) have arrested an official of the Akufo-Addo administration with £26 million in the UK.

He said this claim is false and should be disregarded.

“No government official has been arrested in the UK, this is a ploy by the NDC to shift attention from the issue based campaign ahead of the December elections.” he told Skyy Power FM on Monday October 12.

He added “I will urge journalists to check from the UK authorities. The NDC are behind this fake news of the arrest and that is the strategy they are adopting.

“We are clear in our minds that it is the NDC for one or two reasons. The first person to articulate it publicly is Inusah Fusieni, NDC MP for Tamale Central.

“They are the ones who are championing it and articulating it on their online media platforms including Radio Gold online.

“And now you can also find that there is a fake audiotape that purports to be a piece of international news broadcast on it which is being circulated since last night,” he said.
