A Political Science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, has claimed that leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are diminishing the party’s fortunes.
He explained that the conducts of the party executives in relation to the 2024 flagbearer race, are inappropriate.
Speaking to Alfred Ocansey on TV3’s Ghana Tonight show on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 about the recent happenings within the party, Dr. Amoako Baah said, “The bribery that is going on, the thievery that is going on. The party is about the government of this administration. National council, party chair, if the leaders are not good, you should speak to them, we should call them to order because they are diminishing the NPP’s fortunes for everyone else and that is not how it supposed to be.”
Touching on issues surrounding Alan Kyerematen’s resignation from the party to contest the 2024 presidential election as an independent candidate, Dr. Amoako Baah said Alan’s claims are true.
“Everyone in the party, officially is looking for his own fortunes, they are looking for money. This is what is going on in the party. It is becoming a cabal indeed.”
Dr. Amoako Baah alleged that President, Nana Akufo-Addo is foisting someone on party members as their flagbearer in the 2024 general elections.
“His actions are different. His actions speak louder than words. His actions are not true, he said one thing and doing something else. Everybody knows what is going on and the people around you, read you and act upon it.”
He also stated that party officials should anticipate a shock from Alan Kyeremanten.
“Let see what happens, you will be shocked, a shock is coming and it will be your shock, not mine. And that will show you that indeed you have really done harm to the party,” Dr. Amoako Baah warned.
