The Member of Parliament for Bekwai Constituency, Joseph Osei-Owusu, is to present evidence that could lead to the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye, being hauled before the Privileges Committee of Parliament.

DCOP Kofi Boakye is reported to have called and threatened to arrest the Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, for allegedly inciting the youth of Agogo against Fulani herdsmen.

The threat by the Ashanti Regional Police Commander incurred the wrath of the legislature and wanted DCOP Kofi Boakye hauled before the Privileges Committee of the August House for questioning.

The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho requested Mr. Osei-Owusu and the other MPs to provide evidence to their claim when he drew the Speaker’s attention to the threat.

Speaking on Onua FM’s morning show, Yensempa, Mr. Joe Osei-Owusu, who albeit was not enthused about the threat by the Regional Police Commander promised, “we shall submit the evidence to the Speaker for actions to be taken”.
