Ghanaian International defender Mohammed Salisu made his Southampton debut in their FA Cup fifth round win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Mollineaux on Thursday.

Southampton head coach Ralph Hassenhutl handed the young defender his first start since he joined them last summer from Spanish La Liga side Real Valladolid.

Salisu played 90-minutes in a four man defence with Jan Bednarek in central defence and Ryan Betrand and Walker-Peters as the laterals.

The 21-year old helped the Saints record their first win and first clean sheet in five games.

The 2-0 win qualified Southampton to the quarter finals of the English FA Cup and will play AFC Bournemouth.
