The Minority Chief Whip, Kwame Governs Agbodza, in celebration of Christmas, has donated cash and assorted items to public service workers and civil servants across the Adaklu District.

Beneficiaries of this generous donation include staff of the District Assembly, Teachers, Workers of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Nurses and other Health professionals, staff of the Judicial Service, the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service and other Security Agencies, and the Ambulance Service.

In addition to various cash donations, the staff received items ranging from bags of rice, cooking oil, canned fish (mackerel) and canned tomatoes.

The donation formed part of efforts by the Member of Parliament for Adaklu to boost the morale of the workers, and to appreciate their sacrifices and hard work throughout the year.

In a brief ceremony held at Adaklu Helekpe EP Church and Adaklu Waya SHS, representatives of the lawmaker engaged with both basic and secondary school teachers in the Adaklu district.

Led by the Constituency chairman, Jerry Yao Ameko, the delegation expressed gratitude to all teachers, nurses, educational, and health workers in the Adaklu district for their dedicated service to the community.

Jerry Yao Ameko affirmed the NDC’s commitment to implementing policies that benefit these crucial sectors, emphasizing the party’s vision to address challenges created by the current government since assuming power in January 2017.

Highlighting the achievements of the Minority Chief Whip, the Constituency Chairman mentioned key projects such as the construction of classroom blocks, health centres, nurses’ and teachers’ bungalows in Adaklu Dzakpo. Additionally, the financial support provided by the MP to these sectors was acknowledged.

The District Director of Health Services, Mathew Ayamba Adam, expressed gratitude for the lawmaker’s significant support to the eighteen health centres in the Adaklu district, two of which are private health centers.

On his part, Mac-Peter Dumatonu, the District Director of Education, commended Mr Agbodza for the groundbreaking initiative, as it marked the first instance of a Member of Parliament meeting with all teachers in the district to celebrate Christmas.

During the celebration, teachers and health workers addressed various challenges affecting their services, including issues such as teacher promotion, failure to supply laptops to teachers despite payment, and the lack of textbooks for the new standard-based curriculum. Both sectors recommended making housing and accommodation for teachers and nurses a national policy.

The delegation, on behalf of the Minority Chief Whip, presented items to teachers, nurses, and other public servants, including those from the Ghana Ambulance Service, Ghana National Fire Service, the Ghana Police Service, the judiciary, and staff of the Adaklu District Assembly.
