Identified as Samuel Ofori Atta, the man was shot in the shoulders, chin and ribs at about 2:30am Thursday at Anaji Queen of Peace by some unknown mask men, his neighbours told Takoradi-based Connect FM. Doctors at the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital are performing surgery on the man to remove bullets from his body, host of Omanbapa on Connect FM, Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson reported. Neighbours say they heard gunshots amidst shouts for help from the victim’s home, but could not immediately move out to find estanblish what was happening until after about an hour later. “Everybody was afraid to come out at that time so we remained in our rooms till around 3:00am when we rushed to the victim’s house to see what has happened to him” one residents who spoke on condition of anonymity narrated. The resident said when they got to the house, the victim was lying helplessly in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the Efia Nkwanta Regional Hospital where he was taken to the theatre for surgery. Ofori Atta was said to be alone in the house when the incident, believed to be an armed robbery operation, happened. The masked men reportedly took away a flat screen TV set, mobile phone and an undisclosed amount of money he had in his room.
