Mahama maintains Yamoah Ponko, nominates 12 more MDCEs

President John Mahama has nominated 12 persons as District and Municipal Chief Executives, a statement issued by the government announced Tuesday.

The new nominations are in accordance with article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (1) of the Local Government Act, Act 462.

A statement signed by Alhaji Collins Dauda, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, and released to the Ghana News Agency, on Tuesday, said the President has also re-nominated Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah Ponko for appointment as the Municipal Chief Executive Officer for the Ejisu –Juabeng Municipal Assembly.

The nominees are: Mr Abdullai Seidu for Gushegu District; Mr Eric Osei for Atebubu-Amantin District; Mr Sulemana Adama for Tain District and  Mr Oppong Frimpong for Asunafo South.

Others are Mr Zagoon Saeed Ishmael for Komenda-Edina-Eguarfo-Abirem Municipal Assembly; Mr Albert Kwasi Inkoom for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District, Mr Derek Ohene-Asifo Bekoe for Upper West Akyim District and Mr William Seddoh for Biakoye District Assembly.

The rest are Mr Stephen Boadu for Sene West District, Mr Pius Kwame Nkuah for Sefwi Akontombra District, Mr Albert Abrefo Awortwi for Mpohor District and Mr Nicholas Amankwaa for the Amenfi East District Assembly, the statement added.
