Former President John Dramani Mahama has asked Ghanaians to disregard any conjectures about his running mate for the 2020 elections. “Mr Mahama is presently focused on both his NDC flagbearer campaign and his official duties,” a statement from his campaign team said on Wednesday. There were reports on social media that the former president has picked Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency Dr Zanetor Rawlings as his running mate. According to some of the reports, he picked the daughter of the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to appease her father, Jerry John Rawlings, who is said to have fallen out with leadership of the party. But Mr Mahama’s campaign team stated without mincing words that the “reports are false”. The former president last Friday completed his tour of the Greater Accra Region. He is left with four regions to tour all the 10 regions of the country. His two previous contests of the presidency saw him go with the late Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur. He is the favourite to be picked by the NDC on December 7, 2018 as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2020 elections. By Emmanuel Kwame Amoh|3news.com|Ghana ]]>
