A former Army Commander of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Lt Gen JH Smith (Rtd) who died on December 19, 2023 has been laid to rest. He was 78 years old.
He was burried on December 23, 2023 in accordance with Islamic traditions.
The late Lt Gen JH Smith (Rtd) was married to a Lebanese, Mrs Douha Smith, hence converted to the Islamic faith.
The late Lt Gen JH Smith was also a former Minister of Defence during President John Atta Mills‘ term of office from 2009 to 2013 as well as former Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States under the John Mahama administration.
