National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah and senior police officer Kofi Boakye will on Wednesday join security experts for a public forum seeking to find solution to the growing acts of violence and other lawlessness in the country under the guise of political vigilantism. The issue of political vigilante groups, which many experts have described as national security threat, has in recent times given people reason to rally support for their disbandment. On the back of the public discontentment at the proliferation of violent political vigilantism and its threat to Ghana’s democratic stability, the Media General Group in partnership with Star-Ghana will explore pragmatic antidote to the canker. Themed “Finding Pragmatic Solutions to Violent Vigilantism in Ghanaian Politics” the forum is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the TV3 Executive Theater, at 3:00pm and it is open to public. It will be chaired by Security Intelligence Expert and former Director of the Bureau of National Investigations, Kofi Bentum Quantson. Mr Kan-Dapaah; COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, Director-General of the Police Professional Standards Bureau, Ghana Police Service; Dr. Emmanuel Kwesi Aning, Director at the Faculty of Academic Affairs & Research, Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre; and Nana Kwabena Aborampah Mensah, Senior Programs Officer at CDD-Ghana will speak on the issues. The Media General Group owns TV3, 3FM 92.7, ONUA FM 95.1, AKOMA FM 87.9 (Kumasi), CONNECT FM 97.1 (Takoradi), ONUA TV, APL and 3NEWS.COM. By 3news.com]]>
