According to JUSAG, the review was conducted four years ago and approved by the Judicial Council and, consequently, forwarded to government for implementation.
“Leadership of the Association has made various follow-ups on government, but all efforts to realize this legitimate demand have not yet yielded the expected results.”
In a letter written to the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations and dated March 2, the Association communicated a decision reached by its National Executive Council on February 28 to demand an immediate implementation of the review, or latest by March 31.
“If nothing is heard on or before 31st March, 2016, we shall embark on industrial strike action.”
The letter was signed by all the national executives as well as the 10 regional chairmen of the Association. It was copied to the Chief Justice, the Judicail Secretary as well as the National Labour Commission.
