According to him, the right thing for them to have done was to report the case.
Kofi Bentum Quantson expressed these sentiments on Saturday, September 26 when he took his turn in the hot seat on TV3’s Hot Issues.
“I think the judges who refused the bribes should not be commended. Why didn’t they report?” the former National Security Coordinator wondered.
Mr Quantson insisted that corruption cuts across almost every facet of the Ghanaian society and it will only take pragmatic action like reporting cases to stem the tide.
He says a society that cites the police, custom officials, politicians and school heads as corrupt should not be taken aback when its judiciary is also cited so.
The judicial exposé is an indication that the whole society is corrupt, Mr Quantson emphasized.
‘Legal acrobatics’
He advocated that the Judicial Service should find all means, even if it is by bending the law, to find culpable the judges sighted and cited in the video to have engaged in illegality.
The security expert said the country will be put in a “fine mess” if any of the judges is left off the hook, given the evidence presented in the video.
He said the “legal acrobatics” being engineered by lawyers of the accused judges should not be allowed to override the collective will of the people.
Judging from the reaction of Ghanaians after watching the video last Tuesday, he said, justice must be served.
