Mr Kudalor was the Director General of Police Operations until he was appointed by President John Mahama on November 9 last year to take over as the acting IGP from the then IGP, Mohammed Alhassan, who took his leave prior to his retirement.
President Mahama having been satisfied with the work of Mr Kudalor thus far, is expected to hold a short ceremony at the Presidency Friday at about 12:00 to confirm Mr Kudalor as the head of Ghana’s Police Service.
He takes up the post at a time concerns are being about insecurity in the country arising out of the recent seizures of highly sophisticated arms and ammunitions and unresolved murders, as well as reports of some Police brutalities.
Commissioner Kudalor will be responsible for ensuring a peaceful conduct of this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections, which will undoubtedly be characterized by pockets of violence in some parts of the country.
Already, Mr Kudalor has set in motion an electoral security taskforce in the various regions, which will directly be in charge of ensuring an incident-free November polls, especially in the various flashpoints.
Mr Kudalor was very instrumental in the conduct of the 2012 General polls as a member of the Strategic, Tactical and Operational Planning Committee.
Commissioner Kudalor is a very proficient Police officer with over 20 years experience in operational and investigative duties at various departments within the Ghana Police Service. A very determined officer, he always work to attain the highest level of efficiency in whatever capacity he finds himself in the Ghana Police Service.
He directed the day-to-day operational activities nationwide before, during and after the elections and worked closely with the heads of other sister security agencies to execute a master piece plan leading to one of the peaceful, free, fair and incident-free general elections in Ghana’s history.
He was a resource person for the UNDP Ghana Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons Training of Trainer and a workshop Facilitator on Control, Movement & Management of Small Arms and Light Weapons, Elmina, Ghana in 2004.
