The national executive and members of the Independent People’s Party (IPP) have declared support for the flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom.

Kofi Akpaloo, IPP’s leader, says his disqualification to contest the 2012 Presidential Elections affords him an opportunity to partner any of the contesting parties.

He was speaking on behalf of the party in a press interaction in Kumasi on Monday.

Mr Akpaloo said the vision of IPP is to create jobs, which is what Dr Nduom is also promising; hence, their decision to support PPP.

“There is no other political party that is talking much about job creation,” he said, “and we believe that our youths are in need of jobs.”

“So, whatever we can do to support any party that can create jobs for our numerous youth is what we are going to do.

“We are not in for money nor are we in for any personal benefit,” he concluded.

The communications director of the party, Zakaria Musah, explained that the national executives would not abandon their mother party by the decision to support PPP.

Notwithstanding, he said their decision is the right choice to redeem Ghanaians from incompetent leadership.
