Commissioner of Police Timbilla was interdicted last year after it emerged that he was complicit in a recruitment scam that hit the Service.
Speaking to TV3’s Bridget Otoo in an exclusive interview on Wednesday, Ag. IGP Kudalor said the probe into the case is still ongoing “but you know this is a big issue that is being tried”.
He admitted that the public is running out of patience as regards the outcome but the laid-down structures are being followed.
“I don’t know how it will end but it will have to go through all the procedures because I think the witnesses are quite many and he has also been made to give his side of the story,” he said.
He denied reports that the police have abandoned investigations, promising that results will be made immediately public after they are done.
“The report will be ready sooner than later,” he assured.
He took the opportunity to warn officers to be fully up to the task as the Service will not compromise discipline.
“We are all equal before the law,” he pointed out.
Former IGP Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan sanctioned investigations into the recruitment scam and the current IGP is expected to complete the process.
