IGP orders interdiction of officers who ‘hired’ AK47 to armed robbers

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu, has directed the interdiction of three officers of the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) of the Ghana Police Service. The three officers, who have since been arrested, are reported to have sold an AK 47 rifle to a civilian at Weija. Sergeant Stanley Mensah, Corporal Emmanuel Takyi and Corporal Simon Osei were arrested on Monday after they were mentioned by some suspected robbers, who suffered a motor accident on their way for operation.
