Hearts to play home games behind closed doors after breaching Covid-19 protocols

The Ghana Football Association has ordered Accra Hearts of Oak to play their home games behind closed doors until further notice.

Accra Hearts of Oak breached the GFA matchday covid-19 protocols when they hosted Great Olympics in week 11 of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Following the breach in the protocols which the GFA have been strict on since Government allowed fans entry to the various stadia, the FA has condemned the act and referred Accra Hearts of Oak to the Disciplinary Committee and have in the interim ordered them to play their home games behind closed doors until further notice.

“The GFA condemns without any reservations, the violations of the GFA matchday protocols that took place at the Accra Sports Stadium, despite the plans put in place.

“That Accra Hearts of Oak SC, the home club, is immediately referred to the Disciplinary Committee concerning the breaches of the provisions of the approved GFA Matchday Protocols. The Disciplinary Committee has been tasked to sit on the matter expeditiously.

“That until the case is fully determined, Accra Hearts of Oak SC shall play their home matches behind closed doors at the Accra Sports Stadium,” the decision state.

Accra Hearts of Oak lost 0-2 to Great Olympics in what was an exciting game.
