According to the Odorkor Police, the two students last year discussed how they can turnaround the hard economic situation they are facing in the country with a third person, and later on October 1, attacked another Nigerian student at Atico in Accra.
Wearing a mask and armed with machete, two pliers, Ephraim Okoro Junior and Chimeze Sheeboy, both of Golf City College in Dansoman, attacked their victim, who is also a student of Accra Institute of Technology.
Police say the two armed men beat up the victim, forced him to surrender his mobile phones and an unspecified amount of money. An alarm raised by the victim attracted a Police patrol team, which managed to arrest Okoro. He has since been put before court on charges of robbery and remanded into Police custody.
Sheeboy, however, managed to escape arrest and the Police has mounted a manhunt for his arrest.

The Police in Accra has launched a manhunt for one of two Nigerian students in Ghana who they suspect to have gone into armed robbery due to an economic hardship they are being faced with.
