Here for Perfection (H4P) Organisation, a non-government organization (NGO) in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations with a vision to promote the fundamental human rights and privileges of persons with disability, has feted students and staff of Akropong School for the Blind in the Eastern Region.

“Any service rendered to mankind is a service rendered to God”. This simple yet profound maxim embodies the ideals and driving force of the H4P, thereby bringing dignity to disability.

These words were spoken by Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman, Founder and CEO of the H4P Organisation during the Third Chapter of the Celebration of Love project, a series of events to commemorate the first anniversary of the passing of the late Mrs. Christina Anansiwa Hackman, mother of the CEO of the Here For Perfection (H4P) Organisation.

While addressing the Headmistress, students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the Akropong School for the Blind and other participants at the event, Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman acknowledged the great impact his late mother had made on him, teaching him to love all, empathize with others and always lend a helping hand especially to the vulnerable in society.

The late Mrs Christina Hackman was loving, selfless, and kind hearted to all.

She extended her kindness to all and sundry especially the less-privileged.

She exhibited extreme passion for the development of the disability community by being the greatest supporter, contributor, motivator, and cheer-leader of the H4P Organization’s Special Advocacy for Persons with Disability.

The H4P Organization in honour of her memory put together three successful Celebration of Love projects.

The first kick-started at the Tetteh-Ocloo State School for the Deaf in the Greater Accra Region on September 13, 2023, where a free health Screening was organised for the special children and caregivers.

H4P then continued to the coastal town of Ghana, Winneba in the Central region where the second event was held at The With God Cerebral Palsy Centre – Centre of Abilities on 8th November 2023 with a free Physiotherapy Session, Education and Hearing assessments for children with Cerebral palsy, their caregivers and staff of the Centre.

For the third event, the H4P Organisation climbed up the beautiful Akuapem range to the Akropong School of the Blind where a Free Health Screening comprising of Eye screening, dental screening , hearing assessment and ear cleaning, malaria testing and general consultation were performed.

A make-shift pharmacy was opened to cater for any medication prescribed by the team of professional health personnel which included a team of Ophthalmologist, Optometrist, Dentists and Audiologist from the Centre for Hearing and Speech Services, University of Education, Winneba.

Being organised during the festive season which is characterised by giving, merriment and love, the event was truly a wonderful Christmas celebration to all that were present as special students, staff and caregivers feasted, received gifts and enjoyed a free medical care.

The free medical care turned out to be a life saving one as the Hearing Assessment and Ear cleaning unit recorded shocking discoveries of foreign objects such as beads, broom sticks and insects in the ears of several students.

Through the exercise, it was realised that most parents due to financial difficulties have been unable to send their children for periodic medical checkups.

The H4P Organization’s prioritization of the health of these special needs children was therefore timely and essential.

A donation of bed sheets, cleaning detergents, clothes and medication was also made to the school clinic.

The Celebration of Love project, stands as a shining example of how the H4P Organization, driven by a compassionate leader like Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing unique challenges.

As the echoes of this celebration reverberate through the lives of the Special needs children, their caregivers and parents, the H4P Organization’s commitment to love, service and community shines brightly, illuminating a path towards a more inclusive and compassionate world this festive season and beyond.
