A Political Marketing Communicator, Professor Kobby Mensah, has shared his disappointment in the Performance Tracker initiatives by government.
He has described it as unfit for purpose and a global disgrace.
According to him, the Performance Tracker is not fit for purpose which is very disheartening.
“The tracker is not fit for purpose because … I think that it’s very disheartening you know, for a whole government of Ghana and especially a party that actually prides itself with due process, had criticized their opposing party in the past for hoodwinking or allegedly hoodwinking Ghanaians and they use all sorts of words, and for them to have done this and for purposes that they intended, I think to say the least is disheartening,” he said.
Regarding the financial investment in the project, he emphasized that the initiative’s value did not justify the financial resources allocated to it. “Even if it was GHC5,000, it is not worth it. And to talk about the image, you know it’s absolutely not worth it” he asserted.
He went on to criticize the lack of oversight and quality control, questioning the competence of those in charge.
“So you ask yourself, somebody who is actually supervising in a certain project, even if it was your aid who were supervising it, I am sure that when they have come to you to report, you will even have a glance and if you had a glance, are you saying that you couldn’t identify even the interface to see that there was a problem and therefore ask them to hold on the launch then of course, you are not worth it as a minister, because you should be able to see it. I mean what kind of ministers are we having, what kind of leaders are we having? To me it is a demonstration that we don’t have quality leadership” he lamented.
Comparing the initiative to the controversial “Green Book” of the NDC, Mensah argued that the Performance Tracker initiative is even more terrible due to its global accessibility. “This one is terrible than the Green Book because it’s a global disgrace,” he asserted, highlighting the international ramifications of the government’s failure.

In response to criticisms leveled against the initiative from citizens, Mensah expressed disbelief at the government’s inaction. He emphasized the need for prompt corrective measures, criticizing the government’s failure to address glaring flaws despite widespread condemnation.
“I would even think that they would summon these guys overnight and say look the criticisms that have come, lets fix it. It’s still there. The best would have been that by this morning, you have issued another press release today. We have taken your comment, your criticism, we have fixed so far, so bring in more, then whatever you find. This is a working government or a working institution, but we’ve criticized and the thing is still there” he said.
“If you have criticized somebody that they did a Green Book and you think that they did Photoshop, common ego and self-respect mean that you will get yours right because you have criticized somebody,” Mensah remarked, highlighting the government’s lack of accountability.
Mensah graded the initiative an “absolute failure”, asserting that even a score of 20% would be too generous. “To be very honest, if I have to grade it over 100 I’m telling you 20% will be too much. It is absolute fail. It is atrocious” he stated.
