The committee is expected to be chaired by Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo. It will comprise a member each from the ministries of Finance, Planning and Employment and Labour Relations, three members from organized labour and three members from the Private Enterprise Federation (PEF). Announcing the decision at the 2018 May Day celebrations in Kumasi, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo tasked the committee to complete work within six months. “The Charter will, then, be subjected to scrutiny and debate by Parliament, and adopted as a follow up to the Co-ordinated Programme of Economic and Social Development Policies,” he said. “The nation will then know in detail how we intend to move Ghana to a situation Beyond Aid,” he added. The move comes in the wake of the completion of the three-year extended credit facility from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The vision is to build a free, prosperous, independent country, a Ghana Beyond Aid.” Source: 3news.com|Ghana ]]>
