The Commission had directed the two parties to report back on Monday after it ordered the Association to call off its action while urging government to resume talks over GMA’s demands for documented service conditions for its members.
But the meeting between the negotiating parties was brief, TV3 gathered.
Government’s team was led by Deputy Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson while the doctors were led by GMA President Dr Kwabena Opoku Adusei.
The parties are expected to continue deliberations on Tuesday with negotiations set to be concluded by end of October.
The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) and the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations had representatives at Monday’s brief meeting.
The doctors embarked on a three-week strike after government expressed disagreement with their posture on demands for proper service conditions.
While government has resolved to provide those conditions within the country’s economic ambit, the doctors say a deal will go a long way to help generations unborn.
