Government is strengthening surveillance at the borders – Dep Minister of Defence

Deputy Minister of  Defence, Kofi Amankwa-Manu has led a team of the members of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Ministry of Defence to inspect works on the construction of the Twelve  Forward Operating Bases (FOB) and Three Logistics Centres in the Northern part of our country.

These facilities, when completed, will help strengthen Ghana’s borders against any terrorists attack.

Last year, hundreds of displaced nationals from Burkina Faso entered Ghana through parts of the country’s northern borders.

But Mr Amankwa-Manu who is also lawmaker for Atwima Kwanwom assured that the government is scaling up surveillance at the borders.

“Surveillance continues to be strengthen to neutralise any sporadic attack” he told 3news.com,’s William Evans-Nkum in an exclusive interview.
