The police with assistance from the District Social Welfare Officer on the instructions of the Chief Executive of Akyemansa District have had the 15-year-old girl flogged in Ofoase in the Eastern Region examined.
She was examined and treated at the Akyem Brenase Polyclinic, 3news.com can confirm.
According to a release from the District Assembly, arrangements have also been made to assist her with further health-related care.
The girl was seen in a video flogged by some two young men said to have been hired by her stepfather. They had stripped the girl half-naked before caning her.
“A manhunt is currently underway for the persons involved in the assault of the victim,” the press release dated Wednesday, June 8 said.
The issue was first reported to the police by the uncle of the lady, one Emmanuel Adarkwa, on Friday, June 3.
Her mother has since been arrested to assist in helping arrest the step father and the boys.
