Social media commentator and blogger, Bongo Ideas has said his fierce and unapologetic criticisms have caused hatred for him.

Albert Nat Hyde explained in an interview with Captain Smart that brands have deferred to work with him because of how unreserved he is with his criticisms.

He said Ghanaians only prefer to support hypocrites who do not speak truth.

“In Ghana, they like bootlickers and hypocrites, so if you are very conscious about what you do, they do not want to work with you…because of what I do, brands do not want to work with me because they do not want me to come back later and talk about them,” he said on Onua Maakye on Wednesday, April 3.

However, Bongo Ideas stressed that he has been a long-standing brand ambassador for a betting company, 1x bet.

The blogger also noted that he is not attracted to Akufo-Addo’s personality and how he operates as a President.

“I have not said I don’t like him, I said I am not attracted to him because I don’t see anything about him that I am attracted to. For me, I have read about him and his background and nothing attracts me,” he stated.

Bongo Ideas was on March 13 picked up by some men purported to be personnel from the Ghana Police Service after he made some comment deemed ‘disparaging’ against the President.

But the Ghana Police Service and the National Security denied arresting Bongo Ideas.

The social commentator spent close to 48 hours with the persons who picked him up. After he was released, he shared a distressing ordeal about his experience in captivity detailing how he was assaulted.
