Nii Nortey Dua, a former deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, is reportedly dead.
Nortey Dua who is a former broadcaster at state-owned Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) is said to have died on Thursday morning.
He was the Member of Parliament for the Ledzokuku constituency in the Greater Accra region between 2008 and 2012.
It is not clear what caused his death but 3news.com gathered that the former MP had been ill for some time now.
Nii Nortey was a lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism from where he joined politics.
General Secretary of the NDC, General Asiedu Nketia later confirmed the death of Nii Nortey Dua at the party’s headquarters.
