President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has instructed that all flags across the nation and in Ghana’s missions abroad should fly at half-mast in honour of former First Lady Theresa Kufuor.

The wife of former President John Agyekum Kufuor died on Sunday, October 1.

Already, the President has extolled her “invaluable” and “constant” source of advice to Mr Kufuor during the large part of his tenure as President of Ghana.

A statement issued by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Monday said the instruction from President Akufo-Addo for flags to fly at half-mast will begin from Monday and end on Sunday, October 8.

“This is in tribute to former First Lady Mrs Theresa Kufuor, who passed away on the 1st of October 2023.

“Mrs Kufuor lived a life of compassion, unwavering dedication, and selfless service to the people of Ghana.”

The statement extended heartfelt condolences to former President Kufuor and his family as “we collectively mourn the loss of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many”.
