Falling roof injures 2 after Wednesday’s downpour at Teshie

Two young men narrowly escaped death after the entire roof of an uncompleted building fell on their vehicles at Teshie, a suburb of Accra.

The incident occurred during the downpour and strong wind in the capital on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

According to accounts, the construction work on a storey building housing a number of businesses, including the ADB Bank at the St. Anne Catholic Church Teshie, was nearing completion.

Moreover, several parts of the capital have been flooded, with some high streets rendered unmotorable.

Police and Fire Service personnel were at the scene to direct traffic.

It would be recalled that a few weeks ago, a similar incident occurred in Accra after a downpour and strong winds left several cars damaged by a falling tree.
