Counsel for arrested District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle Salomey Erica Abakah has revealed she has not been able to see her client since his arrest Wednesday, September 7.

According to her, all efforts to get to see and speak with the DCE, Kwasi Bonzo, have been unsuccessful.

“On my way to work this morning, I heard on radio that my client, the DCE for Ellembele, Kwasi Bonzo, has been arrested and sent to the regional headquarters. So I came here to speak to him. But I’ve not been successful.”

According to her, though the Western Regional Police Commander had granted her audience, “it’s been several hours and I have not seen him”.

“I have not officially been told why he has been brought here except what I heard on radio. I’m not even sure he knows that I am around.”

Even though she has not been granted access to her client, lawyer Erica Abakah is confident Kwasi Bonzo will be granted bail Wednesday.

“I have had a fruitful discussion with the regional commander and if what we discussed is anything to go by, I’m certain we will be able to secure bail for him.”

As at the time of filing this report, Counsel Salomey Erica Abakah has still not seen her client.

Meanwhile, another person, Robert Amoah, who is alleged to have gotten wind of the moving excavator and told other colleagues, has also been detained at the Regional Police Command.

3nes.com is reliably informed that his statement has been taken.
