The Asokore Mampong District Court on Friday, September 23 remanded into police custody three students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUTS).

The three – Emmanuel Appiah Amoah, Eugene Noamesi and Kwabena Kwarteng Amaniampong – are standing trial for their involvement in the August 18 mayhem on campus.

They were arrested on bench warrant following investigations into the riots, which led to the vandalisation of some properties including cars.

Already, authorities have meted out some sanctions following recommendations by an investigative committee set up to look into the incident.

The three students are to reappear in court on Monday, October 10.

“We would like to assure the public that all the perpetrators in the disturbances will be brought to justice,” the police said in a statement on Friday.
